Wicker Frog Bio:
Wicker Frog is a Louisville, KY based rock & roll band. Their song repertoire includes classic rock, new rock, & alternative covers as well as unique original rock music. The band of seasoned musicians formed in the summer of 2006 and was quickly welcomed into the Louisville music scene. After an opportunity to open for The Bret Michaels Band in late 2006, they focused their attention on a ten track debut album, âFroggy Style.â Joe Kresovsky (lead vocals, acoustic guitar) writes the music and Al Orduno (lead guitar), Scott Douglas (bass guitar), Steve Schmitt (drums), and Lee Kresovsky (backup vocals, percussion) bring it to life. Wicker Frog puts on an entertaining and interactive show that is enjoyed by fans of all ages. [www.wickerfrog.com]
Wicker The Frogâs Bio:
Wicker is new to the music scene. He spent most of his life moving from town to town trying to find his niche. Just when it seemed there was no way out of his downward spiral, Lee discovered him in the midst of a pile of rubble. She could see his potential and invited him to move in with her. Lee introduced âWickerâ The Frog (WTF) to the band mates in June '06 and an instant bond was made. Wicker is the inspiration for the band. They quickly found out that he's absolutely worthless on every instrument with those stubby little arms. His lyrics are limited to "Ribbit" and he can't carry a tune. They tried him out as head of Security, but he spazzed out when his agoraphobia kicked in. Wicker now works behind the scenes.
Joeâs Bio:
Always surrounded by music at home, Joe started his career by banging on the piano from his high chair. He added the little plastic guitar at age 2 and piano lessons at age 6. Saxophone came at 4th grade and the electric guitar during his sophomore year of high school. Joe took the role as lead singer in a few different high school rock bands. None of them had names since none of them were around for very long. During a summer break from college, he joined up with some old buddies to form âTadow.â He picked up the guitar during college and spent some time with the groups âBlurred Visionâ and âSomeone Else.â Joe also started the solo acoustic show, âCup oâ Joe Acousticâ in 1997. A move to Michigan in 1999 put him in the group â3 Engineers & A Mortician.â At home in Louisville, Joe is now the lead singer for âWicker Frog!â
Alâs Bio:
Alâs musical journey began with a borrowed AC/DC Back in Black album. After that, a rock fan was born! He was surrounded by a family of musicians. His brothers & cousins subjected him to many different styles of music and molded him into the dynamic player that he is today. âIâve learned that music is a feeling. If youâre not feeling the music youâre playing, then neither is anyone else.â Al allows his fingers to convey those emotions to his audience. Alâs influences include Randy Rhodes, SRV, Dimebag, Zack Wylde, and Alex Skolnick...to name a few. Al plays a Samick SG Body, a Dean Phantom, and an Epiphone Les Paul Special. He uses a Digitech RP-100, Crybaby Wah, Bespeco Volume Pedal, and a Marshall MG-50. âSupport local live music. But most importantly, support âWicker Frog!ââ
Scottâs Bio:
Like everyone with a passion for music, Scott has been involved his whole life. He started out playing old gospel tunes and evolved through the years with the help of many influences. The biggest of the influences was his grandfather, Tom Adkins. Scott takes cues from greats such as John Paul Jones, Steve Harris, John Entwhistle, Stanley Clark, and Les Claypool and molds a sound of his own. He delivers his bass sound using a Fender Jazz Bass & and Epiphone Thunderbird along with the Behringer BX1200 Combo Wedge, and an RP50 Digitech processor. âMusic is a passion, entertainment is the payoff. My greatest fan is my wife, Michelle. My greatest smile is my three girls. Music is in the blood and I hope to pass it along to them.â
Steveâs Bio:
Steve is a long time rocker. He has developed his drumming skills over the years playing in numerous cover and original bands. Influenced by drummers John Bonham, Keith Moon, Steve Smith, Larry Mullins, Topper Hedden, Phil Collins, Chester Thompson, and Tommy Lee (to name a few!), Steve taught himself to play like them. Over the years, he has developed a sound of his own. Steve plays Gretch drums, Paiste Alpha series cymbals, Evans drum heads, and uses Vic Firth sticks. âIâve been in several local bands through the years, but never had the talent & musicianship that we have with Wicker Frog. We have lots of original music to work into our sets and I am very excited about the sound! I learned a lot from other drummers while I was âteaching myselfâ and hope to be an influence to the next generation of drummers.â
Leeâs Bio:
Born and raised in New Orleans, Lee has been around music her entire life. She took up piano at an early age and sang with numerous groups through the years. Lee met Joe on a snowy night at the beginning of 2000 in Detroit, MI. After being wooed with music, she was convinced to make the move from the warm south to the frigid Motor City. They married in the summer of 2002. Since her move to Michigan, Lee has been the second voice in their act, âCup oâ Joe Acoustic.â The two made the move to Louisville, KY in the summer of 2004 and continued the act with great success. Lee and Joe joined forces with the solid trio of musicians in the spring of 2006 and Wicker Frog was born. Lee provides those essential backup vocals and adds fine percussion work to spice up the mix!
