Details:
Sing for Life was written and recorded as a charity single in memory of my brother, Bernie Allenstein, who passed away in 1992 from cancer, aged 35. The song has been recorded in several stages in different studios using some very talented musicians and vocalists. The final mix was mastered by Jon Astley who has worked with many greats including George Harrison, The Who, Abba, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, The Eagles, The Rolling Stones, Sex Pistols and many more.
The result is a well-crafted, feel-good song that blends acoustic verses with a big, tuneful, singalong chorus. Proceeds from sales of the song go to Marie Curie Cancer Care - a UK charity offering care and support for people with terminal cancer and other illnesses.
Paul Lester of The Guardian writes, "From its opening strummed guitar and soaring vocal, itâs clear that Sing for Life is something special. With its orchestrated arrangement and Simon & Garfunkel harmonies, it builds to a full-on singalong chorus: think of it as a latterday Hey Jude."
