Details:
Being born and raised in Memphis TN, in the 50's and 60's, I was surrounded and inspired by all types of music happening right here. In 1959, for Christmas at age 12, my mother gave me a Roy Rogers box guitar as a gift. Her being musically inclined on piano and guitar, she taught me my first guitar song "Love Me Tender". The true beginning.
I played in a few garage bands of my own, known as "The Castaways" who we later changed to the "Eccentrics" and another group called the "Blue Things".
However, when we were starting to peak so was Vietnam. Uncle Sam got three of us in one week, putting all dreams on hold.
Before leaving I spent some time with my band in Biloxi, Gulfport and New Orleans area. We all loved it down there. In the mid-sixties it was like spring break on the beaches nowadays.
I got out of music for a lot of years because of marriage, children and life, but continued to sit in with bands and never quit writing.
In the late 90's I started doing one man band shows, open-mic gigs with guitar and keyboard, and then formed my present group. In the late 90's my little girl at age eight wanted to see the ocean. Three strait years in a row she saw Biloxi, Gulfport, New Orleans and Pensacola.
Three years in a row I wrote my Country Surfer Albums, "Blue Biloxi Sky's", "Lets Do Summer Again" and âWalking the Waters Edge". The #1 and #2 albums being, "The Country Surfer Concert". It's with great appreciation, I dedicate the song "Blue Biloxi Sky's" to the people in those areas, trying so hard to rebuild.
I had the Idea for the song thirty-five years ago, but because of different time elements it took a life-time to write.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
