Details:
LIVING IN THE FAST LANE (4.28) Reggie Shaw & Eric Durrance - Eric and I wrote this song in Nashville during a time when we both lost the women we were in love with. Heartbroken, we tried to leave the thoughts and feelings of our broken relationships behind us by going out on the town a lot. We were living our lives in the fast lane.
COUNTRY MUSIC CHURCH (3.44) Reggie Shaw & Dave Gibson - When Dave and I wrote this song, we wanted to start it off by mentioning the great state of Texas. I am a big fan of Hank Williams and I really wanted to write a song with a story like Hank would write. Sitting on the back porch at Daveâs home, the story just kind of all came together after we wrote the first verse.
I LOST IT ALL (4:09) Eric Durrance - The first time I heard âI Lost It All,â I loved it, as it had so much meaning for me and I knew I had to have it on my album. There are so many homeless people in our country and I have a very strong passion to help them whenever I can.
DONâT GIVE UP (3:39) Eric Durrance - This song written by Eric made me think of all the teenagers that are struggling with school and life in general as they gradually grow into adulthood. The song takes a twist at the end when the father is in a car accident and is in the hospital fighting for his life. Now the son at his bedside encourages his father not to give up.
SHE DONâT LOVE ME ANYMORE (4:32) Reggie Shaw & Eric Durrance - This song means a lot to me. I think of it as a goodbye song about a woman that I used to love with all my heart. The production of it is just the way I wanted it to turn out. Buddy Hyatt really knocked it out of the park on piano with so much added emotion.
VACATION (4:11) Reggie Shaw - I wrote this song in a park in Kearney, Nebraska. I wanted to come up with a good summer song for the album. I wrote this one for all you ladies out there.
WALKING ON THE EDGE OF A BROKEN HEART (4:10) Reggie Shaw & Eric Durrance - Eric and I met a girl in Nashville at a bar one night. She was so mean and hateful. We tried to make her laugh and tried to put her in a better mood. She finally opened up to us and told us the reason why she was so upset with her life. This became a good story for a song and we wrote it the very next day.
SOMEONE I CANâT LIVE WITHOUT (3.44) Eric Durrance, Marc Beeson & Don Pfrimmer - I loved this song from the very first time I heard it. Eric wrote this song for his album with two very talented songwriters. I really like the feel of the song and the story behind it. I completely relate with this song in so many ways.
IF THESE WALLS COULD TALK (4:20) Reggie Shaw & Eric Durrance - Eric and I thought we would write a song that would inspire couples to want to stay together instead of giving up. There are so many songs out there that encourage you to break up. There are very few that encourage you to stay together.
I WISH WE WERE CLOSER (4:12) Reggie Shaw & Eric Durrance - This is a song that Eric started to write about his son. When I heard it, I was deeply moved and believe in it from the very beginning. We ended up writing the chorus together and when we finished the song, I was very happy with the way it turned out. I never had a father growing up and that is what really hit me the most.

FACTS ABOUT REGGIE SHAW
Name: Reggie Shaw
Birth Date: August 6, 1976
Hometown: Overton, Nebraska
Family: Mother - Linda, Son - Preston,
Uncle Bill & Aunt Raquel, Aunt Barb, Cousin Bryan
Education: High School Diploma, Overton, Nebraska
Honors and Awards: Nebraska Country Music Hall of Fame, National Texaco Country Showdown Top Five, wrote âWait Till I Get Thereâ with Eric Durrance for his debut album âAngels Fly Away.â
Background: I was Born in Kearney and raised in Overton, Nebraska. I lived with my mom from birth until 4th grade,
then lived with my grandfather. When I was 18 I moved to Nashville. After my Grandfather died in 2010 I moved back to Nebraska.
Special memory growing up: The day I discovered country music and knew that I wanted to be a country music artist. I was fourteen and in the hospital recovering from being hit by a pickup while riding my bicycle. My nurse turned the TV on to CMT and Garth Brooks was performing âThe Dance.â I was blown away by how he could narrate a story through a song and touch people and change lives with a country song. He changed my life. My passion changed from baseball to country music.
What are other talents/hobbies? I enjoy sports, exercising, hunting, fishing and working on cars and trucks. My uncle and I started collecting sports cards and figures in 1986, and we now have a very large collection.
What inspires you to pursue a career in music? I have a deep passion for music. I love the way a song can bring out all of your emotions, whether you are listening to it or singing it. I enjoy singing the story of a song and watching how others respond to it with their body language and emotions. It is the emotional connection with my audience that continues to inspire me. I also like to spend time with elderly people and children, because you can learn so much from them, and I enjoy the times I can perform for them.
How do you write a song? I write a song when I feel inspired. When I get an idea, I start by finding a melody and usually write the chorus first. Then I write the verses and add a bridge, if needed. I have learned so much by writing with my two favorite writers, Eric Durrance and Dave Gibson.
Favorite Artists and why: My favorite artist is Garth Brooks. He was the one that showed me that songs are supposed to be much more than just words and chords. They tell a story and the artist is the narrator delivering the message. Garthâs performances showed me so much about the entire spectrum of what an artist really is. Most of all, he is believable.
Artist you sound like: I have never had anyone tell me I sounded like any one else. Some could possibly say I sound like Ronnie Dunn and Garth Brooks mixed together, but I regard how I sound as a style all my own.
How would you describe yourself on stage? Very relaxed and I always get the crowd involved. When I am singing an upbeat song, I can get kind of rowdy at times. Itâs all about feeling what is happening at the time.
Favorite Movie and Actors: Happy Gilmore. Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Clint Eastwood, Kevin Costner and Kurt Russell.
Favorite Beverages and Food: Bottled water and Dr. Pepper. Mexican and Chinese food. Definitely not beets and olives.
Favorite Book and Favorite Place: âThe Secretâ and âHow to Win Friends and Influence People.â Jamaica.
If you could only have 3 songs to listen to, what are they and why? âEye of the Tigerâ pumps me up, âThunderstruckâ puts me in a good mood no matter what kind of mood Iâm in and âThe Danceâ inspires me and always takes me back to why Iâm a country music artist.
