Beth McLaughlin MSE, MT-BC, LCAT is a Board Certified Music Therapist
who has been practicing music therapy since 1976. She received
her Bachelors degree from Ohio University and a Masters in Music
Education from the College of St. Rose where she also completed
the three-level certification course for Orff-Schulwerk.

Beth is currently Senior Music Therapist and Internship Director at Wildwood School in Albany, New York where she has worked since 1977.
Wildwood provides educational programs for students with neurological impairments and autism, ages 3-21. It was her work with her students at Wildwood School that inspired Songs for Stories.

Working with her students at Wildwood School inspired Beth to write numerous songs that would help teach social, motor and academic skills. She began collaborating with teachers in the early '90's writing songs to accompany books that were being used in the classroom. In 1995 she recorded and produced Songs for Stories, her first collection inspired by books from children's literature and The Wright Group literacy curriculum. It was well received by children of all ages and abilities and was re-released in 2002 as a CD. In addition Beth composed the songs featured in the children's book, I Wish I Could Fly Like a Bird, published by Wildwood Creative Enterprises in 1996.
