Born from the ashes of Vancouver band âThe Heatâ, brothers Bruce and Keith Walkinshaw along with Bojen Bugarinovic, recruited a new rhythm section of Mark Dennis and Derek Gallagher to form Cabin One. Playing mostly original songs, Cabin One strives to create a blend of straight ahead rock and roll and classic punk. When asked to describe there sound, the usual response is homage to their heroes: âThe Clash meets Oasis in bar owned by Keith Richards.â Despite their British rock influences, however, Cabin One are a distinctly Canadian band. With songs such as âFarâ, a rocking tribute to Canadian hero Terry Fox, or âBuriedâ which borrows from a Coast Salish traditional love tale, song-writer Bruce Walkinshaw names Canadian giants such as Leonard Cohen and Gordon Downie as his biggest lyrical influences. As 2007 approaches Cabin One look forward to the release of there first eight song EP, âCABIN ONE: The Demo EPâ and to a spring tour of Western Canada.
