CHAT is a semi-virtual band, composed of two human beings (Gassim and Solveig) and four fictional alien members (Yakaa, Makaa, Yopaa and Meeee). The band was created by Gassim Abdelkader a visual artist, lyricist and composer, and Solveig Sørbø, a Norwegian singer and song writer. Their style is a blend of Sufi rhythms, experimental chants and a wide range of other influences from other music genres.

The band's first album, âJust for the suck of itâ, was released in Oslo/Norway as a limited edition, and included tracks such as âArabic spots on the noseâ âThe beeâ and âHip Hop Hopeâ and it was very well received within the Norwegian underground music scene.

Their second studio Album, âThe Solar Systemâ was released in February 2007 in Oslo, featuring the following tracks:

"Take me to paradise.", "Transformation" and "The Solar System".

The band founders identify CHAT as "A zero gravity, cross-cosmos and pan-planet music band based on the moonâ that merges the creativity of human beings and Extraterrestrials and other forms of existence in other planets.

The name CHAT is composed of the organic relationship between (Cosmos, Hyper, Altitude, and Transformation).

The band members are described by the founders as:

Gassim: Composer, lyricist, virtual drums and lead guitar player from planet Earth. He is interested in cross-planet music platforms.â

Soool: Lead vocals and lyricist from planet Earth, she studied sound placement on contemporary cosmos rhythms on âAlapoppipoppo Universityâ -Planet Mercury.


Yakaa: an influential Asteroid guitar player from planet Mars. Heâs the twin brother of Makaa; born on Mars, while Makaa was born on Jupiter, he studied music at the âUniverse Institute of Vibesâ -Planet Mercury.

Makaa: A multi-system virtual drummer from planet Neptune. Makaa had his education in wireless drum performances at the âConkosh Academy of Noiseâ-Moon Galileo.

Yopaa: A spectacular keyboard player from the Sun, she is the hottest woman in the cosmos. She had her major on music orientation and de-fragmentation of consciousness. Sheâs influenced by âUnguzzuzz Uzz Ozz Buzzâ.

Meeee: A Bass player and lyricist from planet Venus. She has curly, short neon hair with a FireWire port. She uses her 24 fingers to create unforgettable bass tones and grooves.



The band members met at the âInstitute of Vibesâ -Planet Mercury where they decided to form CHAT and start touring Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune and finally land on Earth.

The bandâs Album (The Solar System) is a release of Cell - a Norwegian Indie music label, and produced by Mixing Life-Norway.
