BIOGRAPHY


Dawn McDowell is a singer, songwriter, producer, arranger and a full-time employee of the City of New York. Dawn, a native of the island of Jamaica, now resides in Brooklyn, New York.

At the tender age of 4 years, Dawn started singing in her local Church, the Church of God of Prophecy in Jamaica, W.I., and was soon invited to sing at other church functions in the City. At 10 years old, Dawn accepted the Lord and has found comfort in the God she has come to love and serve over the years. She is encouraged by the many testimonies of individuals who have been saved, healed, delivered, encouraged and converted under her ministry.

Dawn spent a treasured five (5) years as a member of the World Renown Jamaican Gospel Group, Father Holung and Friends. During this time she enjoyed Ministry in various ways by singing to the poor, feeding the hungry and visiting the sick. Sharing in these special moments and holidays were indeed great opportunities.

Dawn McDowellâs Singing Ministry spans the traditional, contemporary, reggae, and modern styles of music. Her debut album âRejoiceâ was well received by music lovers everywhere and within one year, produced her second album entitled âBlessing in the Dropsâ. Following in the path set before her, Dawn was again inspired to publish her third album entitled âSalt of the Earthâ and after several years released the inspiring fourth album entitled âYour Presenceâ.

The Lord has blessed Dawnâs Ministry and has allowed her to perform with some of Gospel Musicâs best â Ron Winan, Reverend Timothy Wright, Shirley Caesar, Candi Staton & Alvin Slaughter to name a few.

All the lyrics on Dawnâs albums are centered on God, while they minister to various aspects of our lives offering encouragement, hope and challenge. Adding to her repertoire of popular original songs are Ancha Yu Soul, Stir Up the Gift, Thank You Lord and the powerful invigorating, Holy Shake!!

Dawn endeavors to continue writing and singing under the influence and guidance of the Holy Spirit, and it is her earnest desire to win the lost to Christ.
