The cello tones on this recording have not been mechanically enhanced or digitally altered in any way. This CD was recorded live in the HealthPlex at the Upledger Institute in North Palm Beach, FL while three Upledger therapists were performing the CST 10 Step Protocol.

A few suggestions for using The Healing Cello - CST 10 Step Protocol CD are:

1. As an audio guide, each track is between 2 to 4 minutes in length. There is a G-note drone between each track to maintain continuity and identifies each new track. This is meant to give the therapist time to change to a new position without disturbing the patient or the flow of the work.
2. Many CranioSacral therapists have already been successfully using The Healing Cello - CST 10 Step Protocol CD during regular treatment sessions. There are no rules. Feel free to shuffle the tracks or loop them for your individual needs or taste. You will find the body will respond differently each time. Follow your instincts--no feeling is wrong.
3. The Healing Cello - 10 Step Protocol CD has also had successful results when used and/or blended with Therapeutic Massage, Reiki, Meditation, Visualization Therapy, and Yoga.

The healing work of Elizabeth Byrd's The Healing Cello was introduced by Dr. John E. Upledger to the International Society for the Study of Subtle Energies Medicine at the Future of Energy Medicine ISSSEEM conference in Boulder, Colorado in June, 1998. Ms. Byrd was invited to present her work of The Healing Cello at the ISSSEEM Conference in Boulder in 2000 and 2001. ISSSEEM 2001 program .

In Dr. Upledger's book, The Inner Physican and You, he recounts his first meeting with Liz and his experiences with music and the cello as a healing agent. During the summer of 2000, Dr. Upledger invited Liz to present her work at the "Beyond the Dura" Conference in Palm Beach in April of 2001. She became a part of the Upledger Institute HealthPlex to apply her special skills to patients in therapy sessions in UI's intensive multi-hand treatment program and individual one-on-one CranioSacral Therapy sessions. In 2001 and 2002, Ms Byrd worked in the new and beautiful Health and Healing Continuum in New York City with the wonderful therapist Karen Erickson.

An accomplished musician, Elizabeth Byrd studied at the North Carolina School of the Arts and The Juilliard School. She has been a faculty member at Florida International University, the Georgia Academy of Music, the 92nd Street YMCA in New York City, and on the faculty of the Pre-College Department of the University of New York at Stony Brook (SUNY). For five years, she was a member of the National Symphony of the Dominican Republic and a Professor of Cello at the National Conservatory of the Dominican Republic. As an orchestral musician, she has performed with several orchestras including the Metropolitan Opera, the London Festival Orchestra, Atlanta, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Tallahassee and several New York Broadway Productions. For ten years, Ms. Byrd was the principal cellist and featured soloist with the Palm Beach Pops Orchestra. During this time she also performed with the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra, Miami City Ballet, the Boca Pops and toured regularly with the Mantovani Orchestra. Ms. Byrd divides her time between Memphis, TN, and Fairplay,CO. Currently Elizabeth an active chamber music recitalist, recording artist for The Healing Cello CD series, and co-producer for the www.AmericanSinger.com and the www.BroadwayBaritones.com Elizabeth is active improv cellist and involved in the organization Music For People.com and the world fusion improv band www.BeyondTheWood.com
