A vehement purist, Faye intentionally side-stepped the present industry standards of auto-tuned vocals and mechanically quantized production. The result is s beautifully pure work of art that sparkles with honesty and intriguing variety.

Though not a concept album in the traditional sense, the title "Skybound" is a natural fit to both Davis' expansive voice and her songs' themes of growth, liberation, truth and transcendence.
