Music is part of my life for some pretty basic reasons. Generally, Iâm in awe of it â in its inherent ability to âaffectâ. Music has changed the course of history and has altered the lives of millions. It shapes how we live, think and act in this world. Itâs one of the few common threads that unite us all, cutting across all barriers regardless of place and time.

Iâm equally amazed by the people who create music⦠the natural talents who live, breathe, and work their craft to its core (to their core). The artists who understand the importance of practice, study, passion, teamwork, patience, trust, and perseverance. For me, the best part of singing is the opportunity to work with musicians like this. The learning is incomparable, and God knows the inspiration is unbeatable.

But at the most basic level, I love music because it gives me â and millions of people â truly breathless moments. For me, there is nothing better. This alone is enough.
