Koshka Raenelle was born in Washington, DC and raised in Glenarden, Maryland. She started singing at the age of three with her musically inclined family, alongside her parents, Gwendolyn and Michael, who both performed in a local band.

Her performances have included President Clintonâs first Inaugural celebration at the Lincoln Memorial, a nine-day Jamaican tour, as well as an international tour which included Germany and England. She was also honored with the invitation to tour the continental U.S. performing in Roger and Hammersteinâs Cinderella. She was thrilled to be able to fill the shoes of the legendary Eartha Kitt, who was originally cast as the Fairy Godmother in the Broadway production of the play.

Her stage credits include âCaroline or Change,â âDream Girls,â âJesus Christ Superstar,â âLittle Shop of Horrors,â âTimbuktu,â âLord Iâm Coming Home,â âHow I Got Over,â âI Do I Do,â âBlack Broadway,â and âChristmas in Washington.â According to the Tennessean Globe, Koshkaâs voice has âflashes of power and range similar to singer and former Broadway actress Stephanie Mills.â

Koshkaâs career has allowed her to share the stage with world-renowned singers and artists such as: Karen Clark-Sheard, Luther Vandross, Kathleen Battle, Quincy Jones, just to name a few.

Ms. Raenelle is a graduate of Duke Ellington School of the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. She studied acting and Shakespeare at Oxford University in Oxford, England and graduated from Howard University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater.

Koshkaâs life has brought joy and fulfillment in everything she does. Maintaining a higher standard, due to her Christian beliefs as a lifetime member of the International Church of Christ, under the leadership of Pastor Roland Kenner, Jr., Koshka has sacrificed certain roles that did not project a positive image of her lifestyle. Even after being personally denied an opportunity to compete in Hollywood for the American Idol competition by the infamous Paula, Randy and Simon trio, she has continued to follow her passion for success.

She gives all praise and honor to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for allowing a blessing to come through Fox 5 âMic @ the Metroâ, Marcus Johnson, Three Keys Music, Kollective, lyricist Sherman Farmer, Damasque Blagburn and all of my friends, family and coworkers. God has blessed Koshka with the gift of singing and acting and she prays that her light will continue to shine to the masses.
