User tags: rock folk, pop 60 s, mp3 album
Melodic Folk Rock with Progressive Sensibilities.
2 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Folk Rock, POP: 60's Pop
Details:
Owen Keenan ups the ante with the help of drummer Dan Ralph and takes up where 2003's 'Song Book' left off with new provisional band name 'Mighty Oaks' and 7" vinyl-only 45 rpm debut, available from CD baby with a complimentary 'Mighty Oaks' guitar plectrum.
Featuring a ringing 12 String VOX Phantom, 'Called From A Dream' explores the uneasy, bittersweet domain of childhood - a happy/sad peak into the verdant playgrounds and the dusky old five and dimes of memory.
B-Side 'Prize Of Then' rocks and rolls down the road feelin' fine with a barrage of Harmony hollowbodies and tumbling Gretsch drums. A song about having no regrets about never getting the cup when the realization has come that the cup doesn't mean what it used to.
Both songs are the natural progression of the sound Owen Keenan minted on his 2003 solo debut 'Song Book' and, like Song Book, were Analog Mastered to 1/4" Reel by Toronto legend Jeff McMurrich - a treat for the ears!
