Marilyn Holderfield began her career in 1977. She gained experience in the Cleveland Ohio area at jam sessions and by sitting in at the many clubs that catered
to jazz lovers. She quickly gained the respect of musicians and and jazz critics. Within a year and a half she was singing every night at various venues throughout Ohio. In the mid 1990âs, she began a ten year run singing six nights a week at Cleveland's hip and gourmet resturant, Sammys-in-the-Flats.
In addition to the dinner club scene, Marilyn has made many public appearances in concert and on television. She has performed with the Artie Shaw band, the Cleveland Jazz orchestra, and at college concerts, including performances with the Campus Owls in Miami, Ohio. She was featured on her own PBS special on television and has sung on many radio programs.

In 1999 Marilyn re-located to Key West, Florida where she continues to have a lively singing career, including performances with the Paradise Big band and at various venues, including the Pier House where she sings on a regular basis. She has appeared in concert at the Tennessee Williams Performing Arts Center and at the Tropic Cinema theater.

Although residing in Key West, Marilyn retains her connections with Cleveland where she will appear in concert this summer at Cain Park. Marilyn is proud to be Director Emeritus of Local 4 AFL-CIO musicians union in Cleveland.
