Brethren and the Evil Empire's self-titled debut album is for those who enjoy heavy intense music. The songs on this cd are melodramatic theatre buried in heavy driving rhythms. Each of the 17 tracks is crafted into a stylized theatrical piece, heavy on mood and atmosphere. While some of the music on the CD is rather dark and graphic, this material should be considered within the context of the album. The band experiments freely with their application of music style and sound, which complements the moody and atmospheric arrangements of their compositions.
