Based out of Sacramento, Matthew Nassirpour began writing music in 2005, when a friend overheard a song he had been toying with and asked permission to include it on a compilation of local, electronic artists in the gothic/industrial scene. He released his music under the name, "The Dreamseed Theologist," as he sought to connect the inherently divine nature of music with the telling and colorful visions of his own vivid and haunting dreams. Response to DsT's material was so overwhelmingly positive that he immediately set about crafting his first album.

After almost two years and seemingly countless setbacks, he released his first EP, The Disappointment of Awakening, again with great suceess. Dark and driving, smooth and moving, his music slides across the whole range of human emotion, with upbeat, accusatory tracks like The Stain and the dark, slow, and brooding track, Touch of the Sun.
