Brian Janey is a bit of an accidental pianist - picking it up when he was a teenager in high school at the behest of a band director who needed someone to sit at the piano and pound out chords so the jazz saxophone solos would have a back drop. Little did Brian know what impact the instrument would have on his life. Through high school, his service in the US Air Force in the early 80s, and college, Brian would find peace at the piano: a place to go, reflect and recharge. His music has that same effect on its listeners. It is contemplative and in it you can sense the changing seasons of life.

Brian worked as a firefighter for many years and recently left that profession to follow is passion for music and the piano. He has a growing and successful business as a Piano Technician with cliental in San Diego and Southwestern Riverside Counties. His intricate understanding of the piano and its sensitive capacity for expression are certainly found in his music. It was the perennial encouragement of clients who would hear him play after tuning and caring for their instruments that led to the recording and production of this CD. More are to follow.
