Details:
Brian Marshall began writing songs in the early 90s with friends and various band incarnations from his days at Orange County's U.C. Irvine to his prolific expansion into Seattle in the late 90's as part of the writing team of Mayfly. Together with Dan McKinnis and Brian LaFranchi, Brian penned songs that would make their way onto t.v. shows from MTV's the Road Rules (Semester at Sea) to Fox TV's 'John Doe,' the WB's 'Dawson's Creek' (second season dvd box set), and NBC's 'Las Vegas.'

When Mayfly went on hiatus in 2004, Brian decided to hit the studio to record 15 songs aimed at film and television soundtrack placement. Having signed an agreement to be represented by L.A.-based Blue Buddha Entertainment as a solo artist, Brian picked up his first placement on the WB's 'Summerland' with the song "Move It On" (air date 3/14/2005 at 9 p.m.).

Brian's influences range from U2, the Doors, the Black Crowes, Paul Simon, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Jack Johnson to Echo & The Bunnymen, Morrissey, Oasis, Cold Play, Radiohead, the Verve, Queen, and AC/DC.

"That's a tough question," Brian contends... "I think a lot of what I listened to came from the environments I was exposed to. As I got a few years under my belt and a few more songs in completed pile, I started to really listen and appreciate the craft of songwriting. My curiosity transcends genres now like it never has before because I'm searching for that common thread... the story or picture it paints in your mind. I love a good visual and the context that comes through in the delivery."

Brian started his own publishing company (Full Service Rock And Roll) with A.S.C.A.P. in January of 2005 and continues to write songs and perform in the Seattle Area in promotion of his first solo release, "Stand On Your Own" (2005 Full Service Records).
