With a saturated market of over-produced music, there are still those songwriters dedicated to creating intimate and organic settings for their work. Brett Fuentes is one of those artists. Finding peace with the craft of music at age fifteen Brett sang anywhere he could from Rio de Janeiro to Los Angeles in various clubs with established musicians. Finding his unique sound of Alternative Rock that clashes with his great influence of Blues, Classic/Modern Rock and Folk, Brett was able to fit the songwriter title comfortably. His predominant instruments are vocals and guitar but he has been known to play drums, piano, and bass on certain recorded tracks.
Reaching Ithaca, NY at age 18 he worked with a touring band called Fromunda finding true love for the art of recording studio albums. Fromunda gained notoriety through college radio and Internet CD sales to establish a solid fan base through out the central New York region. Fromunda departed in 2000 leaving a self-titled album and a four song EP both recorded at Pyramid Sound Studios and currently selling.
At age 21, Brett turned his focus to recording his first solo album titled Guesstimations, which was produced and engineered by Brett. His passion for performing in front of an audience endured as he formed a band known as Modern Day Gone to promote the first CDâs original material. As a four-piece, they played throughout New Jersey and recorded a three song EP of original material.
Currently, Brett is in the midst of completing his second solo album to be promoted through the Internet and continues to tour the Tri-State area performing both his material and reformed renditions of his favorite artists such as Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, and Bob Dylan. Brettâs sound is stylistically unique and dignifies those musicians he grew up listening to by creating fresh alternative rock sounds for their illustrious material utilizing their teachings into his own music.
