Underground Outlaw Country
10 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Hard Rock, COUNTRY: Country Rock
Details:
CHUCH is an inventive group rooted within the traditions of rock and roll, mixing elements of hard rock and non-commercial country. They produce strong vocal harmonies and an impeccable rhythm section. They eschew tags such as "speedwestern" and "outlaw country."
Originally hailing from a small town in Pennsylvania, each member went their own direction after high school only to recently reunite in Vermont. It is the combination of their musical experience and tight friendship that creates the exceptionally unique sound of the band. Brothers, Noah Crowther (bass/vocals), and Justin Crowther (drums/harmonica/vocals) display their strong bond within each beat. Matt Hayes (pedal steel/guitar/vocals), is that twist of country that compliments the band like your favorite drink. Chad Hammaker (guitar/vocals), spits out solos reminiscent of legendary psychedelic rock bands. Chuch produces an absolutely roof raising performance. Their debut album "Four Tall" ranked in the top five best Vermont albums released in 2005.
The band has risen quickly playing nationally renowned music festivals such as High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy, Ca, and The Gathering of the Vibes in Albany, NY. They have shared bills with acts such as My Morning Jacket, Junior Brown, MoFro, and Son Volt. Chuch has continued to rake in fans and critical acclaim from coast to coast over the past three years.
