Explosive. Relentless. Grinding. These are all features of an entity that will chew you up and spit you out...an entity known as Derelict.

Hailing from Montreal, Derelict strives to unite as many features of metal as possible into one commanding package. Although comparisons to various death and thrash metal bands have arisen, it is obvious upon the first listen that there is a drive to unite many influences to keep the music fresh, listenable, and melodic, all the while fusing progressive elements which keep the audience craving for more.

Since Derelict started gigging in Montreal in May 2006, they have racked up an impressive catalogue of shows, including opening up for signed acts such as Threat Signal (Nuclear Blast), 3 Mile Scream (Corporate Punishment), and Endast (Big Metal). They were also part of 2007's Moshcore Festival, which featured many of the top bands in the Montreal scene, and was an important fund raising event for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Having independently funded and released their first full-length album, 'Ideological Prey', Derelict has been tirelessly seeking promotion and distribution avenues to get themselves heard. And be it through their powerful and compelling live shows, or through radio play on stations such as CFMB 1280AM, CINQ 102.3FM Montreal Music Scene's - "AROUND TOWN", and CKUT 90.3 "Sounds of Steel", the word is getting around that Derelict is a force to be reckoned with.
