January 2007 finds the Dirtminers releasing their now-so-delayed-its-become-a-legend second CD, American Typewriter. Whats bubbled up out of Mr. Worrick's brain this time? Burlington's Seven Days calls it "modern, slightly askew Americana." From the electric bouzouki fueled opening of Sweet Loneliness to the surprising bus ride at the end of the affair, the broth here is rich and redolent. Folks do find they feel better after listening to this record, but this ain't yer feel good music. Circus tricksters and freaks, sad eyed gravediggers and lost lovers populate this little corner of the planet. Real life and unreal life are all muddied together, just the way we who mine dirt find it washing past us most days. Please come join our carnival.
