Playing live is where we put our best foot forward! Edgehill Ave. is the result of many years of musical experience in varied musical settings that each member brings to the table. This creates a lush tapestry from which to draw from. The focus is on songwriting and using our influences to help that music grow. We've all chased the musical dream of making the big time and come to the realization that what we really want to do is enjoy the hell out of playing music, it's not about symbolism, it's about substance. If we're having a great time, chances are the crowd will give that energy right back to us! That's certainly been the case so far. Our lineup includes two acoustic guitars and no electric guitars which, other than our songs, gives us a different sound than most. We play rock music pushed by alt.country, flavored with blues and more. Some call it roots rock, others Americana, or even alt. country. Honestly we don't really care. The principal songwriter is influenced by Ryan Adams, Allman Brothers, Big Head Todd, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Charlie Sexton, Widespread Panic, and on and on...the songs are strongly influenced by each band member every night. In February of 2007 we spent a weekend in the studio to capture a snapshot of our sound on a tight budget. The result is a satisfying 7 songs that lets listeners in on our songs and sound. We certainly look forward to a second recording with a larger budget in the very near future.
