Dr. Bernard Brookes is a musician at the United Church of Christ of Seneca Valley in Germantown, Maryland, and performs with the group Treasures Of The Heart Ministries. He earned a Bachelor Degree in Music Bachelor's Degree in Flute and Composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts; Master and Doctoral Degrees in Clinical and Community Psychology at Boston University, and a Master of Business Administration Degree also at Boston University. He has studied Theology at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Virginia.

He has written more than 35 songs. His music includes poetry (spoken word), sung lyrics, flute improvisation, and stimulating rhythms and instrumental harmony. The subject of his songs focus on human relationships, and our relationships with nature and with God.

He is author of the book God, Self & Community: Revelation, Testimony & Practice. He focuses on spirituality as essential elements of personal development and community development. He was co-founder and former Executive Director of Center for Health and Development, a mental health service agency in Massachusetts.
