Welcome to the musical universe of Hal Lansing. Raised in Chicago, Hal began formal studies at age 9 with piano and clarinet lessons and also learned to play Hohner diatonic and chromatic harmonicas. As a young boy, under the direction of Father Eugene O'Malley, he was a member of Chicago's renowned Paulist Choir which performed worldwide. He later studied theory and composition with the University of California, Berkeley Department of Music. During the 1990s, he produced and hosted the only weekly jazz music radio program broadcast live from the Florida Keys. His interviewed guests included the Maynard Ferguson band, William Galison and Tom Lellis. In 2005, Lifetime Stuff Music Company (BMI) published his debut album on compact disc entitled "the road to here".
