This was our first "real record," and the first time we had ever tracked with a full rhythm section of bass and drums. It was also one of the first projects Aaron was involved in that didn't place a lot fo focus on strict bluegrass.

Despite the fact that many of the players on this record are too busy working with bigger groups like The Drive By Truckers and Barbara-Cue to often do Judge & The Jury live gigs these days, many of the songs on this record are fan favorites, and Aaron continues to regularly include them in his live shows, both solo and with other backing musicians.

This is the most "alt.country" album Aaron has released, and if you enjoy Steve Earle, Uncle Tupelo and Buck Owens, this might be the record of his for you to start with.
