Kelli Grant, the Queen of Swingâ¢
career began with a self-title double CD release thru Warner Bros. German affiliate, Eagle Records. Half country originals and half classic, pop, âjazzâ standards, the CD topped the European charts at #4 in Belgium and #7 in Holland.
With much praise coming out of Austin, the country half has been re-released with a few new cuts and new tunes added including, "Don't Mess With Texas." The Texas Department of Transportation issued a special license for the use of their logo, a first for TxDot.
The highly anticipated CD once again showcases Kelli's award winning songwriting talents with more than half of the songlist her own. The title cut, "Don't Mess With Texas", is a colorful and descriptive testiment to the sights and sounds of TEXAS. Talking about sounds and to add just a little more authenticity to the recording, we enlisted the talents of a few former Texas Playboys. Band members that actually recorded and traveled the country with the man himself, Texas Swing legend and innovator, the King of Western Swing, Mr. Bob Wills.
Kelli was inducted into the Western Swing Hall of Fame, Seattle, Wa., due in part to the success of her CD, âSwing Like Thatâ a tribute album to that Texas Swing legend which once again features several of Bob's former bandmembers. Review comments by Mike Gross, WVOF-FM states,
"... a talented vocalist who can swing as good as anyone since perhaps that same, Bob Wills."
Swing legend, Cliff Bruner exclaimed,
"alittle lady loaded with lots of talent."
In Sept. 2006, the Queen of Swingâ¢, was honored by being Nominated for the Will Rogers Award, by the Academy of Western Artist - category, Western Swing Female Artist another very nice compliment to her music.
The accolades continue to grow with the Queen being NOMINATED by her piers for TEXAS STATE MUSICIAN.

Tagged, the Queen of Swing⢠by R&B legend, Carl Perkins but all who hear, agree. A title that is a testament to Kelliâs unique yet awesome signature piano style that âswingsâ in the truest definition of the word.

The Pop half of the self-titled European CD was released in 2006 as, "Softer Side of Swing" which once again received high praises as a CANDIDATE for 2 Grammy Nominations:
"Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album" and Kelli's pop original, "If You Were the One" placed on the list for "Best Female Pop Vocal Performance" an exciting and pssionate recording.

A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the Texas Department of Transportation in support of the states litter campaign and the Texas Music Project.
