An eerie journey through 20 short folk songs. The tracks come together in a beautiful and wintry montage of a world filled with angels and crows.
20 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Traditional Folk, FOLK: Angry
Details:
If Isadore Ducasse had decided to be a singer instead of a writer, I imagine he would have sounded a lot like Isle of Man resident Mike Seed who is well known for his eerie lyrics and haunting folk style. His music is most often described as dark, uneasy, strange and moving. He has slowly been ploughing out his own musical route in his own imitable and slightly strange way for 15 years now, effortlessly shifting from the downright strange and experimental to glorious pop songs and to what you'd call very dark folk and back again... and more often than not all within the same song. He has released two albums, Songs For The Wintering Show Troupe and Goodbyejuly through UK online label SVC Records. He is a member of the experimental dark folk/electronic group The Phantom Carriage (SVC Records, AntiClock). He has collaborated with several artists including Techix, The Gray Field Recordings, and Empire State Human.
âSeedâs affecting voice is much to do with the wonder of this album, slotting croakily in between Kelly Joe Phelps and M.Ward. Another factor is the lyrical imagery, often transporting the listener to the rural Britain of another century, with its talk of parishes and plagues.â âComes with a Smile
