Details:
ProCon was formed in Toronto, Canada by Count Feedback and Countess Christsmasher, a pair of unruly rockers with a musical pedigree and a fondness for vintage synths.

As members of the scene that spawned Peaches, Gonzales and Feist, ProCon established themselves as electronic misfits, mashing hook-ridden electro with punk rock attitude. Rather than joining the exodus to Berlin, ProCon signed to Cochon Records of San Francisco, and holed up in their studio to record tracks for their first album, while becoming a sought after remix team, reworking tracks for fellow underground artists KidsOnTv, Stinkmitt, as well as New Wave Icons Duran Duran, and Paul Humphrey (Blue Peter). Their recent remix of "What Do They Know?" for Mindless Self Indulgence is currently #5 on the Canadian Soundscan singles chart.

ProCon's self titled full-length reflects the duo's wide and varied musical influences. The opening track "Foxhole" is a fitting tribute to the spirit of rock and roll, while "Cop Vs. Fireman" and "Networks or Die" echo the synth punk socio-politik of Devo. Not content to merely shock and amuse, the ProCon album also features the chic Eurythmics-esque electronic pop of their 2004 single "Drive On". After a sold out CD and vinyl pressing, Cochon is re-releasing "ProCon" internationally with Redeye distribution May 1, 2007.

ProCon deliver a full-on live show, and were reviewed as one of the top ten bands of Canadian Music Week by Chart Magazine. Katalogue reviewed their appearance with Peaches as "bringing down the fucking house!!!" ProCon has also shared bills with Freezepop, Princess Superstar, Stinkmitt, Hey Willpower, and appeared at DEMF and CMJ. With their recent gig as the openers for on the Mindless Self Indulgence tour, ProCon has made the transition from nightclub act to stage warriors. Not content to pose and preen in front of their synths, ProCon shows are loud, visceral, aggressive, sweaty, and above all..LIVE!

ProCon have just wrapped an extensive US tour, and are producing tracks for their upcoming follow up. European and US return dates to be announced shortly...

"Getting right up in your grill and staying there with the five alarm urgency of "Foxhole", the T.O duo of Count Feedback and the wickedly dubbed Countess Christsmasher replace electro's all too typical aloof snobbery with a substantial dost of punk edge. ProCon bristle with purpose, not posturing:the unabashed libido-fired "Rub and Ride", the hipster baiting "My Technology" and the hip-hop flavoured "Pussy" abound with relentless energy, punchy synth-based attacks and vitriolic verses juxtaposed with pop-laced choruses...* * * *" Eye Weekly

"...this Toronto duo has fully realized its mandate: creating electronic music that rocks. It's as though Peaches had convinced Annie Lennox to update "Sweet Dreams" after the pair had sung backing vocals on "Mama Said Knock You Out." John Sakamoto, Anti-Hit List

PROCON

Cochon ****

Getting right up in your grill and staying there with the five-alarm urgency of "Foxhole," the T.O. duo of Count Feedback and the wickedly dubbed Countess Christsmasher replace electro's all too typical aloof snobbery with a substantial dose of punk edge. ProCon bristle with purpose not posturing: the unabashed libido-fired "Rub and Ride," the hipster-baiting "My Technology" and the hip-hop flavoured "Pussy" abound with relentless energy, punchy, synth-based attacks and vitriolic verses juxtaposed with pop-laced choruses. ProCon land a much-needed kick in the pants to the legion of electroclash poseurs who had little more to offer than good clothes and bad attitudes. RW

"ProCon constructs a neo-futuristic view of contemporary verse chorus, lyrically based songs influenced by the likes of Georgio Moroder, Devo and old school Hip Hop. Imagine if Grandmaster Flash took some acid before jamming with the Kin of Italo Disco and five turbo nerds, then throw ina ninja and/or a velvet painting of a panther, add some vocals about firemen and you can start to imagine what ProCon is all about." - Kick Magazine
