Robert (Rob) James, producer, songwriter and engineer, and Sandy (Tha Soul Brother) Anderson, bass player, musician, songwriter, began collaborating in 1996. In 1999 Rob and Tha Soul Brother produced two songs on the Proyecto Uno CD âFourââ(name songs). In 2002, they decided to produce their own CD---âShow Some Luv,â a 2 CD setâR&B and cool jazz.

The Bronx-born Soul Brother, a gifted, versatile bass player and musician, can play any kind of music. His professional career began as a saxophone player and he became a local hero. Moving on to bass guitar, he eventually studied under Jaco Pastorius and Percy Jones. Over the years he has played with many successful artists:

REVIEWS OF DEBUT 2-CD SET, SHOW SOME LUV

Rob & Tha Soul Brother. âShow Some Luv.â Veteran Brooklyn bassist Sandy Anderson works overtime on his doubleCD debut with partner Rob James. Disc 1 marries hip-hop with Old School soul/funk, most notably on âPoppinâ,â âItâs Gotta Be,â and âChange the World,â which ride Andersonâs in-your-face â76 Jazz Bass. â¦Disc 1 of the two CD set sounds like an âold school house party,⦠complete with foundation-shaking jams in the mode of Slave/P-Funk/Brick/Graham Central Station, etc., and basement sweatbox style slow jams in the mode of the Miracles. Disc 2 is an exercise in the construction and deconstruction of jazz designed for the people. In the tributes to both Victor Wooten and Jaco Pastorius, Sandy (Tha Soul Brother) sounds exactly like Wooten and Pastorius.
