Rick has been playing trumpet in a variety of musical settings for over 30 yrs. His influences range from classical to jazz to pop. After playing and recording for other artists, Rick began writing and recording in 1998. His most recent CD, Rick Shaw, was released in 2007. Rick is presently a full time student persuing a bachelor of music degree. Many influences over a 25 yr professional music career include: Bruce Haynes (My high school band director), John Southall Ph.D, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, to name a few. Rick lives with his family in FL where he is still very active playing and recording. Member A.S.C.A.P. Rick was a semi-finalist in the Armando Ghitalla International Trumpet Competition in 2006, and was selected to the National Trumpet Competition Pro-Am Division in 2007.
