Samantha Miller was brought to everyone's attention with her amazing performance during this year's talent show. She played guitar and sang in Spanish and English.
Inspired by her grandmother's love of music, she has taken it on, and it has become her life.
"She did everything to bring the music out in me, apparently she succeeded," Miller said.
After the death of her grandmother, Miller was given all of her grandmother's music and guitar collection. At age 14 Miller really began to experiment with playing and writing music. She comes partly from a Hispanic background and incorporates her culture with Spanish lyrics.
Miller holds a regular gig at Angel's Ice House.
"It's just something I love to do," Miller said. "People enjoy hearing it, and I enjoy playing it, so it kinda works out."

She is charming, talented, witty and displays a stage presence that radiates the confidence and poise of a performer with far more experience that, at 16, she actually has. She is a charming, enchanting and impressive young woman. As always and forever.....Texas girls are the best!!!
The high point of this years OSMF campground experience was, for me, the luck of having fortuitously parked our RV next to her family's RV. We were entertained by her talented knack for strumming, singing and songwriting until 2:30AM on the evening following her award. From my heart....congratulations and thank you Samantha."

Samantha's original song 1 Thessalonians 5:21 won second place in the Rock category of the 2006 Austin Songwriter's Group competition, and Write a Song With Me (Suspended) was nominated in the Singer/Songwriter category.
