The Sea Dragons are a Brooklyn, NY based pop/rock group led by singer/songwriter/producer Darryl Thurston. A multi-instrumentalist originally from Philadelphia, Darryl first began on drums at the age of 9 playing along with Three Dog Night, The Rolling Stones and what ever was on the AM radio at the time.

Picking up the guitar at age 14 Darryl then became submersed in the instrument learning from Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, David Gilmour and anything that was there to discover.

Adding keyboards by 19 and writing more and more songs Darryl moved to New York City where he formed The Band of Thieves. Playing NYC area clubs like The Cat Club and The Limelight they gathered favorable press and shared a magazine cover with Motley Crue.

Soon after, Daryl made a name for himself as a session guitar player, recording numerous TV, radio and film spots with a diverse group of artists such as Steve Vai and Delbert McClinton. He also went on the road sharing the stage with acts from the â50âs and â60âs including Tommy Roe whose song Dizzy was the very first inspiration to start the musical path.

A renaissance man by nature Darryl stepped away from music for a while to pursue painting, amateur astronomy and editing. After working on Power Trip, the award winning documentary film by Paul Devlin, Darryl began feeling the music calling again. Writing new songs and recording in his basement studio, it wasnât long before he was back in full tilt.

Darryl formed The Sea Dragons with Rob Ritchie from Halifax, Nova Scotia on bass and Justin Greville from Washington, D.C. on drums. You can catch The Sea Dragons live in the NYC area.

The Sea Dragons sound is rooted in Darrylâs 60âs and 70âs influenced pop/rock songwriting and gravel- throated singing. Mix a bit of Europop/electronic experimentation in the recordings and the Sea Dragons sound are sure to pull you in to their musical ocean.
