Señor Fox Trio is an up-and-coming jazz ensemble from Chicago, and their new album, titled Señor Fox Trio +2, has just been released to high praise. The group formed in 2005, and continues to explore new and exciting genres and songwriting techniques. Drawing from pop artists like Björk in addition to a wide variety of jazz composers, Señor Fox continues with the jazz tradition while infusing their music with tunes and concepts from other genres.

All of the members met while studying music at DePaul University, where guitarist, Conor Scanlon and vocalist, Christy Bennett founded the group. The two later encountered bassist, Kevin Martinez and recruited him to complete the trio. Augmenting the trio, Jeff Keinstra and Stefan Czestochowski joined the group, adding trumpet and drums respectively. Señor Fox has been performing in this quintet format since the release of their album, +2.

Fresh to Chicago's celebrated and burgeoning jazz scene, Señor Fox shows much promise. Collectively its members have performed at the city's top venues such as The Green Mill, The Chicago Theatre, Hothouse, Andyâs Jazz Club, and Pete Millerâs. With each engagement the group continues to develop and refine their sound.
