About Stone Brookeâ¦


Stone was born in Philadelphia to parents who both loved music. His mother was a gifted singer and he was introduced to music at an early age. He grew up in Paris, France where he studied piano and classical guitar. However, his primary interest at a young age was writing songs.

Upon his family's return to the United States, he played in various Washington, DC area bands while in high school. His family moved to the New York City area and he attended Syracuse University where he formed a few bands.

Upon graduation he returned to metropolitan New York continuing both songwriting and playing guitar in different New York City area bands. In the early 1990's he formed "Ab Ovo", an original hard rock band which developed a local following. However, as fate would have it, "Ab Ovo" went through trials and tribulations befitting of its name ("Ab Ovo"means "from the beginning"). So after nine bass players, five guitarists, three keyboardists, two drummers and nine years they disbanded

Stone continued to pursue songwriting and teamed up with his friend, producer and exceptional musician Ernie Albert, who had produced some of Ab Ovo's recordings. Together "STAGES" evolved into this collection of Adult Contemporary songs.

"STAGES" is Stone's first solo effort and is the beginning of a new phase in Stone's career.
