Crazy ass pop / rock music with jazzy overtones and some dark experimental sound scapes.
19 MP3 Songs
ELECTRONIC: Experimental, ROCK: Progressive Rock
Details:
This CD went through many changes. In 2003 the graphic artist Blake Seals took it upon himself to re-arrange this work to his own liking; changing the order completely and cutting out about 8 tracks. He presented me with the results. His approach was certainly unorthodox and completely different than my original intensions. After a rough night debating with myself about artistic integrity and conceptual continuity I gave him the thumbs up. It didn't hurt either that he was willing to pay to press up a thousand copies and provide the artwork for free or send it to radio. He titled the CD "Realized @ 21 Walnut". Which is the truth. All the music was realized at Sonic Underground Studios, which once resided at 21 Walnut Ave. Blake's idea was to hit the listener with the most "out stuff" on the CD first and then get into the more conventional song material eventually veering back to the weird stuff. Not only that, the front cover (a piece of abstract art by Blake) had nothing written on it and the only info on the back was the title of the tunes and a web site to go to. His noble approach actually did get some airplay but the end results may have been a bit too esoteric perhaps even for college radio. So here it is now on CDBaby in its original form with it's original title, artwork and all the missing songs. It's a roller coaster ride for your ears with plenty of melody and bizarre sounds to keep you bubbling in the trunk of life. It's the dark twin to the CD "Life Here... It's Anybody's Guess".
PS,
And yes, Cilla-Sigh-Been-Root was a tough one to sing. If nothing else, it's a great vocal exercise.
