Details:
With the constant, ongoing emergence of singer-songwriters today, it's refreshing to hear an artist who sets himself apart from the rest with such an impeccable, passionate, harmonious voice and entertaining presence. Tanner Walle brings these finely honed skills to the stage as an accomplished and well-established songwriter. Originally from Minneapolis, Kansas (thats right; Kansas!), Tanner spent his high schoolyears in Phoenix, Arizona on countless stages in theater and performing with his successful band Oddbox. He then returned to the middle of the map to pursue a college degree at the University of Kansas while continuing to perform numerous shows on Lawrence and Kansas City stages. While building his career over the past few years, Tanner has had the opportunity to perform with Kelly Clarkson, The Samples, Everclear, Graham Colton, Pat McGee Band, and numerous good friends from Ari Hest to Marc Broussard, Matt Wertz, and Dave Barnes. With the rapidly growing interest in his unique sound and style, he has decided to pursue a full time career in musical entertainment.

Living in the rich, college culture of Lawrence, Kansas, Tanner finished his first full-length release entitled "It Was," which has achieved local, national, and international attention with the recent swell of MySpace hits as well as sales in the U.S., Europe, and Australia. As Lawrence.com proclaimed, ...genuinely hummable hooks and a top-notch band ... decorated with the kind of smooth and breezy pop fare that could cloak the coldest of disses in cuddly jazz chords and debonair falsetto vocals." Tanners freshman album expresses a youthful and innocent outlook on the years ahead, which makes this refreshing gust of smooth, contemporary jazz pop entertaining and oh-so-easy on the ears.

Tanner has drawn from the music he has absorbed over the years to create his latest LP The Future of Tape. Produced by Jerett Fulton (DJNOTADJ) at Mixtape SoundLab, "The Future of Tape" has plans to show ears across the Midwest the capabilities of this recording gem located above the one of Lawrence's most distiguished venues the Bottleneck. With the new album in mind, those who've heard have compared Tanner to Jeff Buckley, David Gray and even Imogen Heap. Tanner sets himself apart quite gracefully with his diverse musical styling and a passionate, harmonious voice. The Future of Tape is a fusion of electronic acoustic pop that travels broad sonic landscapes containing expressive, sticky hooks with lyrics rich in imagery.

Stay tuned, and be looking for Tanner at a venue near you!
