FRAGMENTS is the self-produced debut album from Chapman Stick player Andy Salvanos. The CD features solo melodies and improvisations, with styles ranging from simple folk music to more experimental pieces using loops and electronic drums. Andy describes his music as "melodic, relaxing and visual rather than new age or ambient."

Andy grew up in Sweden and started out playing bass in bands in the 1980's. He later worked with many amazing musicians while living in California, including Rob Allen (guitar, Melissa Ehteridge Band), Dwight Payne (drums, credits include Dwight Yoakam) and Critical Condition.
In Australia he was lucky enough to tour with folk/blues legends JBE with Julian Barnett and Chris Davies, and also played with Archie Roach on "The Tracker" movie soundtrack. At the end of 2002 Andy quit bass playing completely to focus on his Chapman Stick while working a day job. He is now concentrating on music full-time again, and is reportedly selling more than 50 copies of FRAGMENTS a week while busking and playing at markets in Adelaide, South Australia.

Apart from appealing to devotees of original melodic music, fans of solo Stick should enjoy this offering from one of the instrument's bright new voices.
