Egypt Mississippi-a place in time, or a state of mind? A landscape foreign yet familiar, caught somewhere between the pages of a long-ago novel, or dreamed perhaps on a humid, bourbon-tinged night, lace curtains billowing in the sultry breezes. Can one actually visit these exotic locales, or do they exist in some other consciousness- a hazy remembrance, an ethereal dimension just beyond the horizon? A trick of the light. Fragmented figments. Diffuse...Diaphanous...Tantalizing...Ten postcards map the journey, describing the boundaries of these realms, the events and inhabitants - debutantes and debauchers, hussies and hustlers, jazzers, explorers, lovers, punks and freaks...artists and ingenues caught in the maelstrom of discovery? Awareness? Being? The ensuing trip is not for the faint of heart. There are no signposts or benchmarks to guide the way, the compass point has no currency here. Once begun, there is no end and no turning back.

This CD is a collaboration between Stephen and Gordon Shawcross, musical siblings searching the cosmos for the ultimate groove. It features some of Western Canada's finest musicians - Christian Alexandrov, Ralf Buschmeyer, Willie Joosen, Bob Day, Rich Harding, Pat Beliveau, Cody Hutchinson, Tyler Hornby and Ben Harries along with Stephen Shawcross on Drums and Gordon Shawcross on piano and vocals. The CD was mixed by Juno nominee Jared Kuemper.
