T'was one fine summer morning. Joe awoke on the floorboards of a flashy pad somewhere in Dublinâs fair city. âA good memory is happinessâ he silently said to himself as he walked out the door thinking âbout the night before, when he saw his buddy John and the twenty five piece Global funk Orchestra roar. âNo money, no jobâ were the words that ran through his head, when light from his bloodshot eyes shed on a poster that said â1,000 pounds to be won, talent contest it is my son, only two can perform.â So he called up his sis and said âAoife you can sing canât ya?â She said âYea kindaâ¦.â So they jammed all day with fear and fright for the simple reason that the show was that night, but they told themselves everything was gonna be all right and won the money with sweet delight. The crowd they clapped and danced away, when then appeared John who said, âGot somethinâ to say. Damn it you people never knew ya could play, you should come along jam with me someday. What do ya say?â So they jammed all night, till the rise of sunlight when no-ones really that polite, and cried aloud light a spit in the face. So alright we need some bass, without the basics weâre all over the place and thatâs a disgrace, keep the pace and smash the plates. When all of a sudden he appeared with a bass in his hand sayinâ âYou woke me up but donât worry its grand.â Then he started to play, sing and tap his hand. âWhats your name?â they said. âCall me BASSMAN.â So they gelled together and floated down stream, Joe looked at the sky and thought it was a dream. He woke up on stage with what it did seem, a kickinâ band playinâ like a killinâ machine.
