i...deviant came together following the split up of a project (name not given) which focussed on producing psychedelic, electronic based concept material. Both Dave and Nivek were involved in this project and decided to pursue their common interest in experimental music.

After writing some sado-masochistic electronic dance tracks (never released) they felt that their experiments with a more ambient sound were where there interests lay. By pursue this area of music, Nivek had an opportunity to make use of his talent as a saxophonist and singer. This new direction led to a change in their sound which resulted in the writing of "memento mori", their first album.

With help from Verfallen, an outfit signed to dekay media also, the addition of cellos served as the final layer to 5 pieces of unusual, tense, melancholy, disturbing and yet strangely compelling music. Ideal listening for late at night by candlelight.
