Kill the Ego was born when a guitarist and a drummer started stitching songs together in summer 2005. They called the band Kill the Ego because they were tired of bands taking themselves too seriously and they wanted the name to be a constant reminder of that. They played as a two-piece until 18 February 2006 when a bass player sprang from Kill the Ego's forehead.

Then they ate him.

When another bass player squirmed from KTE's hermaphroditic loins, they nourished him until he grew tall and lanky and absent-minded. The trio wanted to keep things simple, keep it about the music and the songs. Kill the Ego is busy trying to write the songs that will save the world. KTE moisturizes and protects you from aging.
