The Sai Whatt Band, pronounced "say what" is a group of musicians and friends from the Gap Band, and Y & P recording days. Under the creative directions of Executive Producer John Swanson, the notion was conceived that collectively the group could put together a commercial product that would rival any of today's reproductions of original R&B music.

The musicians assembled for this effort are Gap Band members Billy Young (keyboards) Ronnie Kaufman (drums), Raymond Calhoun (drums) Jimmy Macon (guitar, and Fred Jenkins (guitar). Other musicians were Masa (rock and acoustic guitar), Jimmy Hamilton (keyboards), Victor (Wide Track) Hill (bass), Rodney Taylor (sax), and Michael Hunter (trumpet).

Vocalist Jimmy Hamilton, Ted Rabb, and Victor Hill are accompanied by Malvin Dino Vice, Warren Hagood, Dale Hightower, Frankie Moore, Daphne Heffner, Maxine and Julie Waters, Charlie Wilson, Val Young and Wanda Cannon who collectively completes the team.
