Debbie âAbbey Kyatâ Dawson is an Island Music artist, writer, entrepreneur and actress who performs Soca, Calypso, Reggae and Hip Hop. She calls herself a Regghipso artist that brings lifeâs situations to light often in a lighthearted fashion.

Abbey is currently working on her debut album entitled âBouk Time! a project sheâs been working on since 1999 thus the title âBouk Time!. âBouk Time! is scheduled to be released on or before June 30th, 2007. She recently finished her first video for the song âMe (Mi)Nah Knowâ a SocaOpera which features Cocoanut Lady a character also on her label âIslanâ Chick Entertainment. Abbey contacts Cocoanut Ladyâs advice show to ask her advice on what to do if her fiance catches her cheating. Cocoanut Ladyâs advice is to just deny everything by saying âMe Nah Knowâ to everything he asks her.

Abbeyâs âKyat Packâ includes Cocoanut Lady, producer Sli of Sli Productions, model Anita P., bodybuilder Patrick T., artist and songwriter Yonashak and writer and artist Mece.

Abbey began performing in 1994 along with a local Deejay named Sli (Sellaci) of Sli Productions. Often emulating artists such as Shelly Thunder, Patra, Sister Carol, Salt And Pepa and Queen Latifah, the US Virgin Island-born Abbey's commanding voice caught the ear of local Producer Seko Varner of the Virginia-based Seko Sound System. She joined the group in 1995 and began doing shows and mixed tapes. In 1998 Seko Sound System released Abbey's first single the Hip Hop-Salsa-Calypso flavored 'No Jestering' to good reviews.
