Milwaukee indie rock four piece Certain Stars presents their second release "Wired for Sound", five new songs of melodic powerpop. Recorded over two feverish days direct to analog tape, the recording captures the immediacy and high energy of the band's live shows.

The album comes charging out of the gates with the two-chord surf-tinged rocker âWired for Soundâ. Guitarist Chris Vossâs Dick Dale-inspired surf guitar and whammy bar octave drops adds an especially exciting element to the song.

Starting with an anticipation-building riff that would fit right in an AC-DC classic, âCan U Dig It?â was penned by drummer Greg Hein. Originally titled âGet Out the Spadeâ the lyrics describe Heinâs dedication to finding great underground bands by doing a little digging while others complain about the lack of good music offered by the mainstream.

Guitarist and vocalist Chris Hernandez's Superchunk sound-alike âSlow Down Quicklyâ is an infectiously breezy tune that will have you pogo-ing in your head!

Getting the most play hits on their MySpace.com page (www.myspace.com/certainstars), the Chris Voss sock hop rocker âhighschoolalloveragainâ is sure to be added to all the kidsâ iPod play lists! With handclaps and group shouts of âheyâ this toe tapper equates a music scene to a high school clique.

The album closer â(Youâre A) Cautionâ finds Kyle Hernandez adopting the dirty sexed-up snarl of Iggy Pop. The band breaks into a sped up jam thatâs part Sonic Youth part âSlow Rideâ, almost veering off the rails to a big rock finish.

Certain Stars believes in the motto "write good songs and play them well". Wired for Sound reveals a seasoned band playing with conviction. Catch a rising star!
