But eventually, the ones you trust will be the ones youll have to watch the most. Well, thats the conclusion that, Chux Spinelli, one of Alabamas finest has reached. Spinelli, the founder of Dem Mimani Boyz (DMB) and owner of Mimani Records is finally set to release his first solo project, "Tha Life Of A Simple Man". It had to be about me this time around, confesses Chux. Many have come and gone since the first DMB album and thats because everybody wanted to take the easy way out or thought they could achieve the overnight success. Dem Mimani Boyz released their first album(The Mimani Compilation) on Mimani Records and scored a regional hit with When We Ride Out in 2000. People were feeling that song everywhere we went. I heard it in cars, at the beach and at the skating rink. It was wild! Till this day people are still feeling the song. I really didnt know the business like I do now, so unfortunately I was unable to capitalize off the success of the song like I envisioned. I'm now able to achieve and manage success. I'm ready for it, Spinelli proclaims. Spinelli, has been readying himself for success for years. He is not fresh meat. He is a hip-hop veteran with a story and a mission. No stranger to street life he admits, Ive been on the block and I've had my share of hard times but that's my past. I'm still a hustler, but now I hustle with my music. I know I can't change the world but maybe I can educate these kids about the streets. I'm not trying to glorify it. Thats not what I'm about. A Simple Man is a well-balanced album and includes the hit single Bama Jerk. With this song I wanted to introduce Alabama to the world, but at the same time let music industry know that hip-hop does exist in The Heart of Dixie. If you take a look right between Georgia and Mississippi, and right below Tennessee thats us, Chux says with a firm voice. In Atlanta they A-town Stomp, in New Orleans they bounce, in Memphis they gangsta walk, in St. Louis they swing, and down here in Alabama we jerk.
