In his youth, Casey âConfidenceâ Barwick was introduced to hip-hop music and began making it his own. Creating beats through a collage of music he heard, using a simple tape recorder. He began reciting his main influence, Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest, and replaced his (Q-Tipâs) lyrics with his own slang. With a lot of practice and great inspirations from artists such as De La Soul, Bob Marley, and Rakim, Confidence created a style in which he could call his own. A few years later Confidence put out his first EP entitled âHidden Frequencyâ. With musical, conscious complex lyricism, and delivery ahead of his time. He then followed up with three more EPâs titled Acoustic Coalition, Foresight, & Loose Leaf Paper. Before the release of âForesightâ, Confidence won âSimply the Bestâ, a local contest for rappers and singers. After not making the first audition, he came back for the 2nd audition and won the chance to compete with 11 other contestants for the title. Confidence was crowned champion in late March of 2005. He continues to promote and pay for his own shows as his track record proves. Not only does Confidence write his own lyrics, he makes his own beats, plays the instruments, produces, mixes, and masters all his tracks at home. Confidence currently resides in Mansfield, OH. Where he continues to drop gems and keep people in anticipation of his next LP titled â Conscious Moodsâ, out this spring. Itâs about time the masses picked up on Confidence who, true to his alias, continues to rip tracks flawlessly. With inspirational lyrics, eloquent breathe control, and intelligent terminology.
