DB/NEB was founded in 2003, by Tella Walton (Anniston, AL) and Kenneth Howell (Bronx, NYC). Growing up in the Bronx, NYC, I used to listen to some of our local talents around the neighborhood. A former street performer and Dj, with his own mix tape productions, spent a great deal of time marketing a successful business and his artistry as a performer, producer, Dj and lyricist, had a vision when he realized that he a talent for discovering and marketing new talent and would premier that artist on his mix tapes. The gnat for discovering new talents, who can commercially sell is vital. Creating NEB productions enable him to Create a new style of business called âThe G-Business styleâ, moreover becoming very popular in the North East Bronx. The sound became more popular when a long time friend and label mate artist/ producer, Troy Martin, desired to join and bring his style to the label. Howell describe the âG-Business" style as a character that most, if not all, people possess. For, everybody has a certain mentality called a âGâ. A âGâ, is a gangsta mentality, an aura about oneself, meaning that they are not taking any shorts in any line of work, business, or success. Everything is handled with precision and thought. Nevertheless, we applied this mentality to making music and lyrics. In business we are not taking any shorts and we are playing for keeps.
Upon reaching out side his geologies, Howell came across one of the most talented and independently established individuals by the name of Tella Walton, founder of Dirty Beatz and Dirty Born apparel. Howell recognized certain professionalism, business persona, and recognized Tellaâs marketing ability to sell music. Nevertheless, Tella, a multi-talented artist, possesses something that a record label needs to succeed, and that is production Tella Waltonâs âG-Business Styleâ, was the missing link to our jigsaw puzzle or record sales. The singer, rapper, producer slash businessman was all that this label needed to become a pinnacle of success in the music label hall of fame for record sells. DB/NEB also incorporated producer/artist Troy Martin and
