Dickey Doo has played up and down both coasts, from New York, to Montreal, (where he holds trimonthly residencies at crobar and parking), from Vancouver to L.A, and has been recruited to play for the likes of Chanel, Miss Universe, Queer as Folk and Fashion Cares. Dickey has been handpicked to open up for djs such as Peter Rauhofer, Roger Sanchez, Deep Dish, Derrick Carter, Lil Louis Vega and many many more. Dickey has collaborated musically with artists such as Eddie Amador (Street corner symphonies âsymphonic tonicâ remix on the ministry of sound label), N.y.câs Lady Bunny and Fabricsâ Tyler Stadius. Dickeyâs remix of R.E.Mâs âAnimalâ was released in summer 2004 as a dj promo 12â, and his remixes of Harmar Superstars âbody requestâ in January 2005 as a cd maxi and a double pack 12â single both on by Warner brothers records USA. In addition Dickey also released his first full length album of original material under his âDixmixâ moniker titled âNocturnal Adventuresâ. In 1995, Dickey and Michael Venus joined forces to create the interdisciplinary artist collective, The House of Venus, for which Dickey now acts as musical director, scoring numerous short films as well as their weekly cable variety show âThe House of Venus Showâ on âOuttvâ in Canada as well as most of Europe and Australia !
