so, who is essensepaula? she is a believer/songwriter/singer/author/activist/poet/radio host & filmmaker. essensepaula is the founder & ceo along with her husband of blessed hands enterprises, llc. they have 3 wonderful children together. essensepaula has an indie record label called earth records. she owns 100 of her masters which includes all of her music & lyrics. based on her family history, essensepaula was born into music and has been writing since she was eight years old.

mr. walter lewis cook

my father
brandonâs (donteâ) and my daughtersâ grandfather

he was a strong black man and also a fighter. he was also a cab driver for blue bird cabs and served his country for 3 years as a private in the army.

active duty: sept 21, 1943-mar 3, 1946

born: aug. 22, 1923 died: dec. 6, 1970

fatherâs cousin: city government representative: mr. douglas dean.

walter was a deputy sheriff for dekalb county at the timing of his death.

his hobby was a jazz drummer and attended a music school in new york.

walter lewis cook was an outstanding member of the national musicianâs union.

he also played at the royal peacock in atlanta located on auburn avenue, where he was a member of the house band with some of the greatest musicians:

-hamilton bohannon (whoâs actually my cousin on my motherâs side of the family)
-little richard
-titus turner &
-chuck willis, whoâs a blues singer

walter also sat in with some of the greatest jazz artists at the apollo theater:
-art tatum
-charlie mingus
-played with the hudson brothers of atlanta & david hudson played an instrumental solo at my fatherâs funeral
-duke pierson
